Hey folks, I was just setting up an old PC with a fresh Windows 7 install. I haven\'t done any updates yet and tried to install the WS500 app. I got a strange error about a missing api (Application Program Interface). It seems that MS added this api as a backwards support update so that new Windows 10 apps could work on Windows 7-8. Most everyone will likely already have this installed as part of some MS update but just in case not I thought I would post the details of how to fix it.
Simply go to the Microsoft downloads center and look for update KB2999226, select the version you need for your OS and install it. Its a very small update and should only take a minute or two. No need to even reboot.

Or just Google the above update.
