I have made an modified drawing from the REC BMS manual, just to show the placement of the two shunts really. REC has to be at the battery minus, and WS500 at the Alternator plus. When...

The alternator is charging 3500W and the WS500 is seeing this correctly, and now positive reading so the shunt is also the correct direction. The battery is still showing 0,3A so the current from ...
There is a few errors here. First, your shunt for the alternator is reversed. Swap the two wires for current sense, or reverse it in the setting. Second, how can the alternator charge 3500W and n...
I use Adaptive Idle Pullback and dont have this issue. PBF value 8 and Engine Idle 1200 RPM. My bet is the "RPM -> half power mode" is causing problems.
We are currenty making our way back home and dont want to risk changing too much with beta software at the moment as we rely in it to work. Besides. I do not have the problems you describe...
Then I suspect rhe BMS is detecting an imbalanse issue, possibly due to long cables between cells? Monitor the high and low cell voltage from the BMS while charging at full power.
Nice setup you have there now Jonny. Trond from Farco here., writing from Azores. I also see the same thing, and it happend after updating the BMS to V2.9. Jumping from 0 to 50A up and dow...
There can be many poles, but its still 3 phases. There is really no "middle" phase. They will all give an pulse you can use for pulse to rpm. You can add an diode in series to it.
I dont kow the DC Power Engineerng alternators specific. But, if you open the lid on the back of the alternator you wil see 3 thick wires coming out from the alternator going in to the recti...
Hi. You were all correct, there WAS an bad connection on the solid red wire. It was impossible to see from the outside and even when pulling it, feeld snug. But I cut of the connector and crimpe...
Below is an log from when turning on ignition gives error #43. Seems like an internal HW error to me. Sep-24-2023,08:56:38,0, ,AST;,0.02, ,13.07,6.9,6.9,90, ,14.30,490,150...
Hello. My WS500 has started giving Error 43, Alternator Low voltage. But the alternator voltage is just fine. AST;,0.00, ,13.06,-32.6,-32.6,-425, ,14.30,490,15000,10, ,25,33, ,0, ,13.06,26,-99,2...
@Michael We have the 4JH4 54 HK motor with dual 200A alternators. Having one on each side of the motor helps with the side-load issues. Been working great for many years now but we do not use the...
I have the same setup in my boat. 60% field max at normal drive (about 230A). Then 90% when "I need to charge quick mode" (about 400A). Could probably change it to 40%/90%.
@Michael There is an "feature inn" cable on the WS500 for this, its all in the manual. "The Feature-in port allows a wide range of optional capabilities in the WS500 to be selected in real time. T...
If you activate DVCC then REC BMS becomes "the boss". But its allways good to set some reasonable (low) settings in the Multiplus as fallback.
I did get an reply from Tine about this. And from my understanding all BMS`s send ID 0x3.. And this can be changed to 0x4.. with special FW for BMS but then you need to customice programmin...
Hi. I currently have two REC A-BMS connected to the same Cerbo. One BMS is ID 2 and other is ID 4 in RS485 network, so far so good. But when I connect them both to CAN-BUS there seems to be some...
