My REC Active BMS is reflecting 240-250A of charging into my LiFePo battery system, however there presently no sources of charging active in my system (no shore power and my engine is off). My Victron SmartShunt is showing -7.0A current use. Both shunts are reflecting the same battery voltage (13.26).
I've restarted the BMS several times, and I have updated to the latest 2.97 firmware and the issue is unchanged.
Any ideas?
When you have a large error its usually one of three issues.
You made an adjustment to the shunt zero offset parameter
A shunt wire was mistakenly touched to a battery cell voltage and it burned out the cicuit resistor or ADC circuit
Wire connections at the shunt, crimp terminal or harness pins have corroded causing a galvantic electrical current
Since I haven't done anything to the system other than go sailing today, would they most likely issue be corrosion?
I'm assuming to solve this. I would just need to go through the system looking at each connection for the shunt and BMS?
