WS500 giving Error #43

  • Hello.

My WS500 has started giving Error 43, Alternator Low voltage.

But the alternator voltage is just fine.

    See also screenshots below.

    Any suggestions?

  • Below is an log from when turning on ignition gives error #43.

Seems like an internal HW error to me.

  • @Trond just a quick note, from thinks that come up my mind, without looking into detail.

What is the voltage on back off alternator?

I think, the voltage at the red  wire, alternator +, with the 10amp fuse is used for info to diagnose error 43.

This voltage is not In the log reports.

    Check fuse also.

If you make a longer logfile, this gives more info about all settings.

Do a test with a standalone setup, instead off slave.  Any difference?

Hello.  As Ben pointed out, FLT 43 is indicating the WS500 has not sensed voltage on the solid RED wire, the one with the 15A fuse in it that sources energy for the Field drive.

FC_NO_VALT_VOLTAGE              43 + 0x8000U    // No voltage has been sensed on the VAlt+ line, blow fuse?

Check the voltage at that point, as well as maybe make sure the fuse is installed and the correct value (Yes, that detail has tripped up more then one person...)

  • Hi.

You were all correct, there WAS an bad connection on the solid red wire.

It was impossible to see from the outside and even when pulling it, feeld snug.

But I cut of the connector and crimped on an new one, problem solved.
