How to download firmware

  I have my electrical system all installed and ready to go except for two firmware downloads.  One is the REC-Active BMS and the other is the Wakespeed WS500.

  I am not very computer savvy when it comes to download so I was hoping for some help in walking through the process.

  For the REC, I think I have found the firmware download I need:                                           REC ABMS 2.9 bin files-Feb-15-2023.

  I am guessing I extract it but that is as far as I can get.  I have the RS485 cable with a USB adapter connected to my Windows 10 laptop.

  What is my next step?

  You need to install and run the PC software tool first.

  You can download the software and install it like any other windows app.

  Once it is installed you can download the firmware update.

  Can I download the REC software from the web and use it without the REC thumb drive.  The thumb drive I was sent is corrupted.

  Would anyone know what was the reasoning behind using RS485 connectors on the REC BMS vs. a RJ45?

  Also, could I cut off the RS485 and replace it with a RJ45?  This would make such a cleaner install!

  @John Yes, the if you download the app there is no need for the thumb drive
