Daughter card to add second amps input

  • I added an off-the-shelf INA226 daughter card with the sense resistor removed and two TVAs added to protect the current sense input.   This provides a second set of voltage and current inputs and allows me to take full advantage of the alternator AND battery sensing features of the regulator.   This is a hugely less expensive way to get this input as compared to a remote CAN BMS.

  • Can you elaborate or do you have this documented anywhere?  How did you communicate these values to the WS500?  I\'ve been kicking around a similar idea and replacing the REC BMS shunt data (slow) with my own (at a higher update rate).
