I added an off-the-shelf INA226 daughter card with the sense resistor removed and two TVAs added to protect the current sense input. This provides a second set of voltage and current inputs and allows me to take full advantage of the alternator AND battery sensing features of the regulator. This is a hugely less expensive way to get this input as compared to a remote CAN BMS.
Can you elaborate or do you have this documented anywhere? How did you communicate these values to the WS500? I\'ve been kicking around a similar idea and replacing the REC BMS shunt data (slow) with my own (at a higher update rate).
