Hey group,
I plan on installing the REC-BMS in my camper van once it arrives but am curious regarding the use of the BMS-CAN port. I know that the REC and Wakespeed can be set to 500kbps so would it be okay to use the BMS-CAN port on the Cerbo? I\'m pretty sure the REC can do this, but unsure about the wakespeed. The reason for this would be so I could use the VE.Can and repurpose this for RV-C (RV CAN) so I can use the Seelevel tank sensors to monitor my tanks.
Thank you!
Matt
Doh, answered my own question. It\'s right in the Wakespeed portion of the Cerbo manual https://www.victronenergy.com/media/pg/Cerbo_GX/en/wakespeed-ws500-support.html:
Necessary requirements for the integration of the WS500 are:
- VenusOS firmware v2.90 or higher installed on your GX device
- Wakespeed WS500 firmware 2.5.0 or higher installed on the WS500 controller
- The WS500 must connect to the VE.Can port of the GX device. It is not possible to monitor the WS500 when connected to the BMS-Can port of a Cerbo GX.
You beat me to it. With the new integration of the WS500 it now needs to be connected on the VE port. Previously we were recommending it be on the BMS port so that it was hardwired to talk directly with your BMS and not have to rely on the Cerbo being enabled.
