Hello,
I have a REC ABMS managing a 2P4S battery pack which is connected to a Victron Cerbo via BMS CAN.
DCVV is enabled and the BMS has managed the various charge sources as expected until now.
As a note, my setup only has a discharge relay. There is no charge bus disconnect/relay - I rely on DCVV to manage charge sources.
The temperatures have dropped (everywhere) and finally went below freezing. The REC BMS did not set the DCVV charge current to zero based on battery temp.
As the sun came up, the MPPT controllers came online and began charging the battery while the battery began emitting
Low charge temperature alarm: Warning and Alarms. Luckily, I have these alarms going to a Slack channel that rang my phone to alert me before the sun was high enough to make any real current.
I would have expected the REC BMS would have set DCVV charge current to zero to prevent low temperature charging.
I have since added the safeguard in Node Red to switch off all charging source based on battery temperature.
cheers
What value did you set the \"Min T-Charge\" to in the BMS?
By default its -15`C.
