I have read all of the available and sometimes conflicting documentation re how to set up, and configure the WS500 <--> Cerbo GX <--> REC-BMS set up.
It is like I am panning for gold... searching for all of the nuggets of correct advice.
Does such a guide exist? Or perhaps a Youtube video?
Same here. Good luck brother 😅
I would pay $$ for such a guide. Especially if there was someone that was keeping it up to date. I know that this forum is a great source of info, but the "forum" format makes it hard to pull out just the relevant details. The other option would be to create a "wiki" on this site that could be edited by those with relevant experience and then peer reviewed for accurancy and relevance. Quite frankly I've seen a lot of well meaning posts that I know to be wrong, either because someone did not understand the question or did not have enough knowledge or experience and should not be posting.
Did anyone get anywhere with this?
Latest I've seen is REC ABMS to Cerbo BMS-Can port. WS500 to Cerbo Ve.Can port.
I'm running an older Cerbo GX (not MK2) on 3.5.0 with a WS500PRO on 2.6.0. Have REC ABMS, cells, contactors, etc but haven't assembled.
Any new info would be appreciated!
@Ryan @Bill C.
I have the same system, it has been up and running for over a year. Connecting devices is pretty straight forward. I have my REC and WS500Pro connected to the VE.CAN ports on the Cerbo GX. Make sure all the firmware for the components are up to date and the CAN baud rates match (250kbts). To make changes on the REC, Use the wifi module web interface and go to the firmware tab. Make sure it is unlocked and scroll to the bottom of the page where it says "Manual communication"
In the first box, "Address" - select 2.
next box, "Message" - type "CANS?"
next box, "Response" - You should see a number 0-4, This corresponds to a baud rate, 2 being 250 kbs
To make a change just type "CANS 2" this will change the baud rate to 250kbs
The Wakespeed default baud setting is 250 kbs but that is easy to change with the app if needed.
I just upgraded my WS500 to the Pro model and ran into some problems setting up the Pro. See my post https://ogm-energy.com/community/ogm-user-forum/topic/153136/ws500-pro-unable-to-connect-to-abms
Wakespeed is working on releasing a new firmware for the WS500Pro. If you need help now, you will have to reach out to Wakespeed directly to get a patched firmware. This will allow the WS500Pro to sync it's CAN bus signal with the REC ABMS' CAN bus signal via the Cerbo GX. They are very helpful and quick to respond to requests.
I hope this helps.

@Rance Thanks very much for your reply. My set is working pretty well, but I am still working through some issues.
Sometimes the field strength bounces between 0 and 2%, when it should be charging the house battery. I've installed a shunt on the alternator positive output.
Are you using the new Cerbo GX GUI SW? I'm seeing two issues, possiby related to the new GUI.
I don't see field strength on the Cerbo GX display, but can see that the altenator is outputing on the Wakespeed app. Also the math for the Alt output does not add up on the Cerbo GX display.
Still trying to figure out if it's related to the DVCC issues - I hear that the VE DVCC still has some teething issues and it has been suggested that I should not use it. However, I really want DVCC to work. Conceptually, it should be the solution for having the REC BMS managing all of the charging sources. In my case for the house battery, it is the 220A Balmar 98 series Alt being controlled by the WS500, my 3 x Multiplus-IIs inverters in by pass mode charging the batteries or in inverter mode, the generator running or not, my IP43 charger, my Skylla 100 A charger, and my solar (being installed this week). I feel that I am close to getting my settings dialed in. It's been a steep learning curve...
