Firmware version 1.6 seems to fix the LCD display connection issues experienced in 1.5.8
Now available for download here: https://rec-bms-na.com/product-manuals/#7-12-wpfd-rec-wi-fi-module
And go here for a a video tutorial on how to update: https://rec-bms-na.com/tutorials/
Today I put together my BMS and battery pack. The wifi module was on firmware version 1.5.8. I tried to use the REC-WiFi-module-Firmware-Update-1.6-HW2.0.zip to update my module. Everything appeared successful, however after reconnecting, the version said 1.5.7 and that my SD was not present. I rebooted the Wifi module and now the main page is rather broken looking (no images) and I can not access the firmware page, as the menu sidebar is completely empty.
Please help!
I have seen something like this before and believe it or not the solution seemed to be to leave it powered up for an hour or two, then pull the power for 20 seconds and let it reboot. Its almost like it does the file update very slowly.
If that doesnt work, you can also pop the SD card out and copy the two bin files on to it, reinstall and reboot. The system should grab the update from the SD card.
To pull the SD card you just snap the cover off, but there are some pics and instructions posted here on the forum.
Good luck

This fixed the web page blacking out the menu. Yeah
It didn\'t fix the other problems:
1. I attempted to enter the battery bank capacity as 280.
The field disappears after clicking submit:
On Home the battery capacity displays as 2.8e+21
2. I attempted to set the maximum and minimum cell voltages using the up/down arrows and direct input to 3.65 and 2.5. The UI didn’t keep the values:
sounds like you still dont have a complete install.
Try reinstalling both update bin files.
Power down for 20 seconds
power back up but do not touch anything else until tomorrow morning
I repeated the download and update procedure. Same problems as shown above.
I took the next step to manually install the updated firmware files directly on the SD card:
I just went through the process of updating to HW2.0-1.6.0. I performed the same procedures that Rick suggested less waiting a few hours. Installed the .bin files on the root directory of the SD card, repowered it a few times, and then finally did a hardware reset on the WiFi unit via a paperclip. You need to hold down the reset button until the LED\'s stop flashing and go out. After that, power down the entire rig to reboot all devices.
I hope this helps

Still does not work correctly after doing a full reset and reconfiguration. When setting the maximum cell voltage and the battery pack amp hours the same erroneous numbers are displayed. Seems like there is a reluctance to go back to the coder with a support question.
Strange that both of you are having the same issue, yet many people have had no issue.
I did some of the beta testing on this is version and it worked very well.
I grabbed a fresh copy from the the REC repo and have posted them here.
Install the Spiffs file first and make sure you use the correct ones for your hardware version.
Let me know if this helps
The first thing I tried was switching browsers from Chrome to Edge. That eliminated the first problem with the menu blackout. The menu blackout problem was solved by repeating the upload process.
Using Chrome, Safari, and Edge yield the same results after: reuploading the spiff and update files, placing the spiff and update files directly on the SD card, and fully resetting the hardware to initial state and reconfiguring the WiFi unit as described in the above post.
As to the correct version, I have included a screen shot of the hardware version (2.0) and the software version (1.6.0)
Boy do I dislike software troubleshooting.
I used update to reload the files with the versions you provided (which are not different) in the order you recommended I try and got the following error when I uploaded the update.bin file...
yes, there are files for both hardware 1.2 and 2.0. Maybe you grabbed the wrong HW version files. Try again with the hw2.0 files
And just in case I am posting 1.5.7 files here, in case you need to go back.
Backdated the firmware by removing the SD card, deleting the old file versions, reinstalling the card, and restarting the WiFi module.
I\'ve attached a screen shot showing the software version.
Settings are still FUBAR. As I had not tried to change these settings before, I don\'t know if the problem was there in the last version. Have your tests changing these parameters shown any anomalies?
I am going to set up our demo board with a Q Series today (I only have an Active and Master/Slave up now) and will see if I can replicate your issues. I have pinged REC tech support to see if they have had any similar issues but not heard back yet.

Tine, this is the thread for the email I sent yesterday. Rick
@tine
I set up a Q Series BMS last night using 2.8 firmware to start testing to see if I can duplicate these out of range numbers you are getting.
I had an old WiFi module, so I upgraded it to 1.6 but it did take a few hours and a hard reset before I could use it.
I changed every parameter and as long as I changed things one at a time, then pressed the \"Submit\" button for that value it worked ok.
I did note that with a couple of the parameters, a variable would get added or disappear when doing it, but as soon as you processed the next item, it would get added back to the list.
Are you able to modify the values manually using the \"Manual Communication\" section in the Firmware tab?
The user manual has all of the manual commands.
For instance to view the current value of the \"Charging Ends\" value, type in 1 for the address, then CHAR?, then hit the \"Submit\" button.
It should return something like 3.600e0 where e is the decimal offset
To change it, type in CHAR 3.61, Submit. It should respond with \"Set\"
To confirm the new value, type CHAR? again
If the values work normally here it will help with understanding why you are getting erroneous values
For the record, I did experience this a little bit after my upgrade, some of the values I entered would get submitted with the decimal in the wrong place, or omitted entirely. It did not persist though. Kind of felt like a javascript bug
I also experienced what Rick described, where a parameter would entirely disappear from the list - often after submitting, and then reappear after submitting another value.
