I am finishing the install of my house battery system and will begin testing the various charging and discharging use-cases, including the bow thruster. I do not want the REC-BMS to shut down when...
Bill, Thats a whopper of a thruster. By my math, 950A x 24v = 23Kw / 746 = 30 HP!! Are you having issues now? If so, what is happening?
I havent come across this issue so I cant help right away. It may be you need to get around the bootloader to re-install it, but that is something only the folks at REC could do, or us with a...
I was hoping that some of the more experienced members on this forum can guide me on how to set/manage the REC-BMS settings for Dischange and Charge Current limits. I've tried comphrhending ...
I don't have the rs485 to usb cable, but will likely have to purchase it.@Rick-admin , do you think this would work to reinstall an older version of the firmware? Tine still hasn't responded to my ...
@W Maybe get back to the old firmware by using an old thrumb drive.
If anyone read my last post I had some issues getting my Rec Active BMS functional after replacing my Nation's alternator. Thanks to Rick's advice of checking my BMS fuses, it started working again...
Well, I pulled the bms and checked all the fuses, which were all good. When I reassembled everything, it all started working again. Think this likely reset the bms. Didn't know there was a battery ...
@Rick Thanks for the advice. I'll take a look later this morning. Would a blown fuse still allow the bms to turn on and sense the voltages as above? Although it says "cell voltage measuring error",...
It sounds like you may have blown some fuses in the REC BMS when you were moving things around. Also, how many beeps/LED flashes are you getting from the BMS? This will give us an error code...
Hello, Background:For the last 4 years, I’ve had the rec active bms connected to my van power system. I have (16)280 amp 3.2 lithium cells oriented in a 12v 4p4s pack with 1120 amp hours of ...
Hi Trond, so nice to hear from you! I have followed you and Lars on Marinetraffic and hope it will soon be possible for me to travel too.Have you spoken to REC about this issue? In the past, Tine h...
Nice setup you have there now Jonny. Trond from Farco here., writing from Azores. I also see the same thing, and it happend after updating the BMS to V2.9. Jumping from 0 to 50A up and dow...
It was an interesting hypothesis. I have serpentine belts on both dynamos and there is marginal stretch. I have run the WS-500 as a master in the past and it has worked fine, but it will probably b...
I think you may be dealing with dynamically induced cycling caused when you get acceleration pulses every time the engine fires and is most notable at lower RPM. That's a wack of amps you are...
SOC is 64% and cells are perfectly balanced 0.003V difference.
Now I tested with a higher current and then it is stable. As you can see, the problem occurs when the power is below approx. 50A. Values statra then to chase very much. Attach various images show...
can you get a better pic, which shows the legend on the left so we know what the colors mean, and scaled to fill more of the screen. Also, what is your %SoC of your cells? Could it be that you ha...
The LED is orange and the DVCC is working. Attach a picture, hope it can help.
Do you have any real time graphs that might help? Is your DVCC working (WS500 LED should be orange)?
Hi. I have challenges with regulating the WS500. I suspect NMEA conflicts, but I'm struggling to get an overview, and which unit I should change (instance). I have Cerbo-gx with os large (firmware ...
Ok Trevor, we can do that for you. Please contact us at support@ogm-energy.com and we'll get you fixed up.
@Rick Hi Rick I have not been able to resolve this other than narrowing it down to a faulty connection with the AMP connector. Is there a warranty that would replace the wirring harness?
Solved the problem of buying an Android tablet:) Windows for REC, Android for WS and MAC for everything else. HTML or an app that is OS independent would be nice and avoid a number of user problems...
Thanks for the reply, but the problem is that I don't have access to the "NMEA advanced" menu when I use the WS 500 config tool for windows. I don't have an android phone and therefore don't have a...
@Jonny maybe this is helpfull. See wakespeed website. https://www.wakespeed.com/wp-content/uploads/Wakespeed-Victron-Cerbo-GX-Guide-Updated-with-DVCC-4.12.24.pdf
Hi. Is it possible to access the "advanced" menu in the pc software for windows to set up ws500 to support DVCC? I have followed all the requirements in the manual but cannot access: NMEA2000...
Resistors are 330 Ohms. Maybe there is a bad connection from the cable to the crimp or fronm the crimp to the pin.
Thanks again for your help Rick. I'm just now heading offshore, so I'm reluctant to flash it right now. When I get to broadband Internet again, in a month, I'll report back to you.
It looks like you are at 1.5.8. Firmware and manuals are all on our REC North Amercia site here. Update that first to see it resolves your issue. Make sure you read the ReadMe in the z...
Thanks for the quick reply and advice Rick! I got a little bit further.I'm now able to set variables and I receive the "OK" response. I think I wasn't using a leading zero previously.&n...
I don't see where you checked the crimps on the pins from the shunt wires going into the AMP connector. We had a bit of trouble with those in the past.
This sounds like a processing issue. Try this Connect to wifi module Go to Firmware page and log in scroll down to Manual commands Enter address: 1 for q/2Q 2 for ABMS Enter ...
I've been wanting to verify and adjust several unlisted settings such as RAZL. When I attempt to do so using the dialog box on the Firmware screen, I get no response. Not only that, but...
@tine , @Rick I owe you both an apology as I have only now gotten to running through Tine's trouble shooting steps. The 50+ amps showing as coming in hasn't caused an issue so I've not made ...
I was hoping that someone could explain how the REC-BMS logging screen works on the WiFi module. For exmaple, if the logging interval is set to 10 minutes, does that mean that it records a new data...
@Rick I will solve this problem faster myself because I do not count on the help of the seller or manufacturer.Zeus is an interesting product, but there is no technical support.
@William In the end I was able to have 2.5.1 working well, as I mentioned in the previous post, no complaints. And looking at the release notes, it seems that 2.5.2 is mostly about Victron DVCC and...
I just figured out that the most current software is 2.5.2. Do you have any idea if it fixed your NMEA 2000 issue?
Chris, I have not had any luck contacting Zeus either. Your selling dealer should be able to help you with this.
