@Richard I did not sadly. I was given the firmware by @tine from REC but could never get it to flash. OGM RMAed the BMS. I would reach out to OGM if you bought it through them.

@o-firstname I recently flashed my ABMS and can't proceed to loading firmware from my Wifi module. It seems like the device serial number no longer acts as the password to unlock BMS communic...
@Rick I obtained an AVR programmer here in NZ and it was quick work to load the .hex and .eep files from @tine I've run into a problem unlocking the serial communication between my Wifi modul...
Thanks rick Are you saying that it does not work with my 2.9.3 firmware bu t does with any newer firmware? Tom
REC and victron have been working closely over this past year and updates are being released to take advantage of these emerging complementary technologies with more data being shared, more alarmin...
it charges and then goes into absorption mode, never goes to float. what setting do i have not set right? tom
@tom i would hold off for now as 2.9.5 should be available in a month or so. New features include better tip end charging and balancing cells indication on the wifi
rick, do i need to go to 2.9.4 firmware? what do i gain from changing to the ve can port? everything seems to be working just fine the way it is
@Trevor sending Tine a followup email now
Yes, Change CANF paramter to 250k Set cerbo port as per quickstart manual link above Move to VE.CAN port Wakespeed now goes the VE. CAN port as well and don't forget to change its CAN speed
ok, i have the rec active cable plugged into the bms can port on the cerbo gx. are you guys saying i should have it plugged into the ve can port? i have dvcc on in the curr...
@Rick Just tested them all 5 minutes ago and they are good :( Was really hoping for an easy fix there
For the Active BMS you will need to grab an M10 driver and remove the screws on the case and slide out the PCB. The fuses are small black squares, likely with a blob of silicone on them. ...
@Ben Morning Ben, I'm looking through the manual now but do not see where the internal fuse or cell balancing fuse are located, could you point me in the right direction? I didnt see one when I had...
I mentioned this earlier in this thread but here it is again. The BMS port is only for "read only" type BMS systems that do not fully integrate with Victron VE DVCC and other high level integrated...
@Richard I just read a few manuals that I stored on my HD also one from 2021. They all show the info you mention. Maybe you referred to my post, that I removed because it was wrong informati...
@Ben Read The Fine Manual is always good advice! I re-read the Ver. 2.94 ABMS manual. Regarding setup of the CAN port on the Victron GX device, it states: "Use BMS-Can port w...
@Trevor did you have checked the internal fuses?
@Rick and @Ben thank you very much for the advice on the BMS-CAN versus VE-CAN ports on the Cerbo. I remember agonizing over the choice between the two 3 years ago. Lacking guidance fr...
@tine Tine, do you have any thoughts on this one please. Rick
Alright guys: Just reformatted the Wifi module SD card and loaded up 2.95. I reset the internal clock battery on the Rec ABMS. Got it all put back together again and did the firmware update to 2.95...
The BMS port is only for BMS systems that do not fully integrate with Victron VE DVCC and other high level integrated control.
Ben makes a good point here. The files first gets uploaded to the wifi module SDC card quickly, then slowly to the wifi module. Turning it off mid process will very likely corrupt...
@Ben At Richard, all system I made for customers all are set up with 250kB to VE-can port. Iam not sure or bms-CAN on Cerbo is fully supported.
@Richard As tip for every one that do any firmware upgrade or downgrade. after starting the process, The first meassge you see, is "uploaded succesfully" Process is not yet finisched. Thi...
It sounds like your bootloader may have become corrupted. If you are handy and have a USB AVR programmer you may be able to reload it. No guarantees but it might be worth a try. Please emai...
My system has been working flawlessly for 3 years except for the Wifi module. For some reason, it will only function in Station mode. When I scan for networks, nothing happens. I'...
Great! Thanks for the feedback
Trevor, it looks like your install is corrupted. If you remove the M10 screws from the case and slide out the PCB there is a clock backup battery. Not sure if it will help, but you...
@Trevor It won't let me send manual messages to update the SOC, and I'm not sure whats going on with the temp sensor. Individual cell voltages read normal when I go to that page, as well as the te...
@Rick Hey Rick I'm at my wits end with this thing, tried 2.94 again and followed the updated guide with no positive results. Back to 2.93 but now I'm getting errors, such as in the screenshot poste...
I just wanted to report back to close out this issue. I was able to flash the latest Wifi module firmware and that fixed the problem.
Bill, I've been living with a similar setup for several years but have no Wakespeed. I've found the Victron, without any "precedence" programming, does the right thing. If solar is put...
How come when I enter "CHRG 1" my ABMS replies Error 1? Same response when I enter "CHRG?" "CANS 2" and "CANS?" work fine
Guys, there have been some enhancements to the REC/Victron CANBus connectivity. Check out this thread: https://ogm-energy.com/community/ogm-user-forum/topic/154310/new-rec-bms-an...
@tom That's so bizarre, I'm about to revisit mine as well. I have just had it on 2.93 the last 6 months
i just installed the rec active bms. when i updated the firmware to 2.94 it stopped communicating with the cerbo gx. i went back to the 2.93 and all is good. i w...
The issue was the WS500 pro shipped with bad firmware. Version 2.6.0 is bad, needed to get in touch with WS and get sn early version of 2.6.1 to make it work.
