Hi Ben & all I am in the process of setting up my REC-BMS, Cerbo, Multiplus & WS500. I am using the DVCC to limit the charging and dropping the voltage to stop the Multiplus charging, are...
I slowly see the lowest voltage rising. From my calculations, the balancing current per cell can only be max 0,5A.Whatever, if it works in the end, it is ok for me...
The Active BMS wil balance at up to 2.5 amps per cell. Balancing will start at BMIN setpoint, usually around 3.4 volts. You don't want to set it lower because the mid range charge voltage of ...
Hello, I have a 3p4s config of 280Ah cells making up my battery.I have significant cell voltages differences (0,18) so balancing needs to be done. Can anyone give me an idea at what capacity the ...
Thanks that makes this clear
@carl The cerbo should show, external control, in the multi dialog. In victron connect app, MPPT's, shows also external control. WS500 shows, state 39, in logfile. The MAX voltage sett...
If you activate DVCC then REC BMS becomes "the boss". But its allways good to set some reasonable (low) settings in the Multiplus as fallback.
Hello, A very simple question : I use the REC Active BMS with v2.90 firmware connected to Cerbo and multiplus. There are max voltage settings for absorption and float.Do they still have any effect ...
IN above post the word BMS is a few time used, I think this need to be corrected to REC-BMS, or BMS with CAN. I never start experimenting to connect something others to the Victron BMS-can...
NOTE: This post has been temporaily redacted. Our demo Cerbo is acting suspiciously and we are having it replaced, and will retest and update this post. Comments are still welcome...
Thanks, I signed up for notices and sent a request on building a kit to support. Looking at the Wifi module vs. PC SW. What is configurable via Cerbo, vs. requiring Wifi or PC SW? ...
It looks like in my case, the max pack voltage went over the calculated value by about 1 Volt at the same point, where the charge current should have been reduced to 1.1A. Maximum charging...
The high current output is dedicated to the Main trip contactor/relay. Both opto1 and opto2 are configurable for any available function. We are hoping to have first release manuals in a few ...
Thanks, very helpful! And good news about the 2Q, it sounds like what I need. If I understand correctly, I could configure the two opto outputs to have one act as 'Allow to charge' and one a...
Thanks for posting the answer.! I was just about to mention tine at REC to get his insight on this one.
Happy to help you here. First, all REC BMS information is available for download at our REC North America or REC head Office sites https://rec-bms-na.com/downloads/ https://www.rec-bms.com/ And...
I asked REC in parallel and the answer was: Yes Balancing end voltage BVOL, should be the same as End of charge 4.084 As soon the highest cell reaches End of charge the current starts to ramp d...
Hi, I run a REC master/slave BMS for a 96 cells/40kWh stationary battery. As described in the attached documentation, there is a pretty clever mechanism built into REC master device to clos...
I am looking into upgrading my existing van system with a dedicated second alternator. I have been searching the forum and the REC BMS download site and I find some info on Wakespeed + Victro...
Emails should now be properly signed and no longer treated as SPAM. If you are still having this problem please let us know. Thanks!a
Those fuses protect the highly sensitive ADC circuitry and wires can not be connected or removed when the BMS is connected. Try replacing the fuses. You can grab them from an electrical...
My new Active BMS isn't powering up, but unlike the OP, I had connected everything up like in the installation video and checked the voltage to the connector harness before plugging it in. I'm not ...
@Rick nope, turned out to be just a simple power input issue! Thats why it was off. All better now.
This is great information. Thanks for sharing!
The REC BMS (now) supports the same high voltage CAN protocoll than the high voltage Pylontech systems (Force H1/2) Please note, that this is quite different than the Pylontech 48V CAN protoc...
That leads me to think that your BMS has a pack high temp, cell high voltage or cell out of balance error that needs to be investigated
Hi, here is the final installation of 40kWh brutto capacity. All works great with Sungrow and other High Voltage hybrid converters. Thanks again to Rick and especially to Tine@REC.
@Trond This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks so very much!
@Rick Thank you Rick. I assumed the forced float status is because the feature in connector is configured as a bms charge enable lead which made me think that part of the setup is working correctly...
We include a PC config tool with the WS500 and the PRO version allows you to import the raw data and re-run it on a chart or export it to excel in something a little more readable so I ran your num...
Hi - I have a ws500 setup with a balmar 6series that has been functioning well for about 30 operating hours so far. Today, at startup the system ran normally for 4 minutes and then shutdown t...
@Jonas It's on the Rec-BMS main website: https://www.rec-bms.com/rec-accessories/ Under the wifi module, it has a firmware update: https://www.rec-bms.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Wi-Fi-FW-Upd...
and just caught your reference to a local A/C line. Because the shunt is such a sensitive reading there is a chance that induced AC power may be affecting the reading. Make sure the 2 w...
This sounds like a wiring problem. This is a millivolt reading so it is very sensitive to any poor connection. Ideas: Check to make sure all crimps are clean and tight clean the connecti...
I sent a message. Hopefully his megacorp overlords will let him reply! :)
