Just to close the loop, I trimmed the sense wires and ran them away from high current lines. I also cleaned the contact surface of the shunt and re-terminated. No sign of this issue since. Safe to ...

This looks strange for me, especially how the voltage can drop from 14.4V back to 13.0V in seconds. Looks like a connection problem in the battery cables. Can you add all regulator wires in t...
I installed a WS500 last fall and am seeing some strange behavior. My setup is a a 320A Leece-Neville alternator, 4x Rolls AGM batteries as a house bank, and a single Rolls AGM as a starting batte...
I forgot about the Firmware tab. No way to set the date. In looking at the log, it is not clear on the unit of measure for each sample.
The Active BMS and Master both have a Real Time Clock(RTC) but the SI-Q series standalone does not. Time can be set in the Firmware tab of the WiFi module. From the manual Firmware tab is us...
I don\'t see anyway to set the date and time. In looking at the log file, the date and time fields are empty.
What are the minimum connections need to verify operation and communicate via serial interface using the REC USB to RS485 cable?
yes, but REC was closed over the holidays for more than 2 weeks. It normally only takes a few days. I would expect to see it early next week
Both Trond and Ben make a very good point. To switch an alternator is usually as easy as finding the brush wire that goes to the diode bridge and moving it to ground instead. Your other brush the...
I agree with Trond Arvid. I prefer also to have p=type regulated alternator. I see more advantage for this, for different other reasons also. Most off the time easy to modify the alternator.
@rick_tech_support Rick, I sent the info you requested a couple of weeks ago. Did it find its way to the right person?
You will probably find that is more easy convert the alternator insted. From negative regulated alternator over to positive.
Yes it is possible but Wakespeed does not share this information freely as they say incorrect configuration can cause serious damage. If you contact them directly they may be able to help.
So I have 2 WS500\'s with Ptype harnesses I used with Balmar 621 alternators on my old boat, moving to a new boat and looking at different alternator options and having issues trying to get p type ...
Rick, You rock! Thanks! Stefano
Hey Stefano, Not quite sure what is happening with the new company but we have been trying to give them some constructive feedback and fortunately we have a great bunch of people with WS500 expe...
Thanks Ben, This is helpful indeed. Can you please point me to the full manual, if available to the public? I imagine that this OS is not proprietary, but it is new to me and a pointer to where ...
Hello Steven M, The manual you use is a short version, and indeed not really clear. I have send a comment to Wakespeed to make this chapter more clear. copied from full manual: \"\"$CPA...
The comma after the custom table 7 or 8 is not required. If you have a PC and our WS500 config tool you can upload your current parameters and verify they were correctly posted. Also, when you ar...
Rick, thank you again for your helpful responses. I think you might be on to something with the induced-current idea, as the shunt sense wires are coiled near the positive power cable where a lot o...
The first place to start is with your wiring. The current shunt sense wire measures a very low milli-volt signal and is susceptible to outside interference. Make sure the wires are not near or wo...
I recently installed my first WS500 in my boat with REC-BMS and Victron integration and a dedicated alternator shunt to measure output. It\'s awesome and solved some longstanding charging issues in...
Bi Ben, Thanks for taking a look. Here is a screen shot with both the text file and the manual with the commas. The same syntax discrepancy is present within the manual\'s Lifeline .txt example...
Your posted example is correct. I dont see, your mention comma in the manual. As reminder, you are programming profile 7, 7 is not the first parameter. Dont forget to set the dipswitch...
That fixed it. Thank you!!!!
Ben is right, you will not get the VE.bus BMS V2 to sync to the WS500, as it does not send CAN bus data like REC BMS does. You will have to setup the WS500 with regular Lifepo4 charge profile. ...
Please look the the copy and paste from config file for flooded battery from the WS support page. Note at lines 3 to 8 that there is no coma after the first value. This is unlike in the documentati...
What value did you set the \"Min T-Charge\" to in the BMS? By default its -15`C.
Try to install this driver: https://www.wakespeed.com/wp-content/uploads/Driver.zip
I cannot get the WS500 File Transfer Utility to work on my Dell laptop running Windows 10 (64bit). The situation: I run the WS500 File Transfer Utility; when prompted I plug in the WS500 to a US...
Hello, I have a REC ABMS managing a 2P4S battery pack which is connected to a Victron Cerbo via BMS CAN. DCVV is enabled and the BMS has managed the various charge sources as expected until n...
Ed, for some reason I thought your RV was 12v. Busy day🤪. For a Q Series you need to send us your serial number to tech@offgridsoftwaresolutions.com as each firmware build is keyed to your BMS. ...
Rick & Tine, I tried to update to the firmware you provided, but there was a problem (shown in the attached .png file). It looks like the firmware you linked to is for an Active BMS, I have the...
So far as my knowledge goes, the VE-bms, only send a signal if a cell is too high or too low. And switch off the load or charge bus on this very high and low limits. It dont send any CVL or C...
The Cerbo will also recognize the REC BMS and a couple of Smart batteries, but I would expect your BMS to work. Have you enabled DVCC in your Cerbo? Here are the instructions for connecting you...
Thanks Rick. Yes, I started with the WS500/Victron BMS profile provided from the Wakespeed site. I\'ve now started using the Android app for monitoring/control. I connected the WS500 to the ce...
I havent yet configured an all Victron to WS500 solution with the updated firmware and new Cerbo rev, but here are a couple of things to consider Do you have the correct WS500 profile for Victro...
