Thanks again Ben. It does look like my Multiplus is out of date on firmware. I'm presently running edition 490, and it looks like that is a couple of years old. However, I have to wait until I...

Hello Jamie, New settings is better for batteries I think, not many manufacturers ask for a continuous float voltage from 13.9V. But your Multi is over shooting the "goal" voltage CVL, that the R...
Thanks for diving deep into this. Those events are around a short evening sail I took with friends. Looks like they coindcided with starting engine, sailing, starting again, etc.Hopefully this is l...
@Ben Another strange event. System is in float 13.9( your old settings) See CVL. CVL stays constant 13.9. Then Multi start giving fluctuating voltages. All related to ...
@Jamie on the mainscreen GX, you need to see external control at the multi icon. Checking your VRM, there is charge current, when the cell voltage get higher. (On your posted VRM widget, t...
Yep... I was confused. To share my confusion in a way which may help others... when I originally removed the SD card for reformatting, I only found Log files on it. There were no other configuration...
Just because we're diving deep here I though I'd share the Multiplus settings to see if you have any concerns or suggestions: I would imagine the BMS would override these set...
@Ben Thanks for the advice here. Voltage Spike: I don't have an explanation for the voltage spike you mentioned. The only charging devices on the boat are the Multiplus and the alternator, a...
@Jamie limit amps suggest to make 200amps. Looking in more detail to your VRM post from above, I see something strange. At 5septeber around 23:00h, I see voltage rising, but no charging a...
Thank you. I updated the two settings from the remote panel and will update BMS when I get back to the boat.
Good that it is solved. Maybe in my earlier post ""copy"" the files was not clear enough.
Under dvcc, limit charge current, and limit voltage need to be on. Make a setting, just higher as the BMS "goal"(CVL CCL). The GX will take the lowest from, manual setting, or from BMS....
Good that you have thing working, nice feedback reports I dont know exactly why you had the zero amps charging.I dont see any relation with frimware update. Not any update that could have solve t...
Reporting back... I followed the latest instructions, and they worked perfectly. WiFi module is running smoothly now. THANK YOU!!
Okay... here are the latest results. Firmware Update... before I did the two tests I updated the firmware from 2.4.3 to 2.5. Here's the logfile after updating Firmware. Updating firmware did...
Unfortunately, everything on the boat is LED. I will stop by an automotive store and pick up a DC low wattage light bulb and give this test a try. As for the alternator test... what do you mean by...
Thank you. I will give this a try the next time I'm at the boat. Is there anything else I should try if this does not work? I live about 45 to 60 minutes away from the boat, so I'm not able to vis...
Thanks for the replies. I was able to do some of this via the VRM remote panel. DVCC: First, here's the DVCC settings: When I first connected and reviewed these settings the 'Co...
In VRM, you can also add a widget that show CCL and CVL, can you post them here, from the same time line as above screenshots, VRM? Also post the widget from VRM, cell minV and cell maxV.&...
Not sure what firmware you are running but version 2.9 has added some enhanced top voltage control. It starts on page 24 of the manual and you can find the update and manual here:  ...
Only a short answer, no more time at the moment. Having high voltage alarms after 18 months, I see that more times. Before the cells where nice in balance and there will be no al...
Nice report back. The test on the blue FIELD wire shows that the regulator is working. ALthought the test with a multimeter can be not correct, because there is not any load on it. Do you ha...
Hello Jamie, Could you try with another SD card. Format the card. Have both files copied in the root from SD card: update.bin and spiffs.bin file. I never had a device that didn't rebo...
Another challenge I'm dealing with at the moment is the BMS not seeming to slow down the charging rate of the Victron Multiplus 3000 the battery gets toward full. This seems to result in the high v...
Thanks for the replies. I appreciate the help. Pins... I removed the fuses and cable, and checked for pins and all were in the their proper positions. Fuses... I checked the fuses on the voltage ...
Thanks for the reply. I made it down to the boat this evening, and removed and formatted the SD card though made sure to save the log files . After reinstalling the card, I logged on to the Wi-Fi ...
One extra note. According the manual, always remove FIRST both fuses, before disconnect the connector from the WS500 device.
The thought that first comes to mind is that you may have a pin on the harness that is pushed back a bit. Maybe try opening the case and using a jewlers screwdriver, reset all pins.
Jamie, Ben is right, it looks like your upgrade did not get properly installed. I have found it can take hours for the update to process. We have tried to document that in several plac...
I'm not sure or you have followed the correct procedure with uploading the firmware files but anyway at this point I suggest another method to update the firmware. 1. try the reset button from WiF...
Suggested test: 1. Check the fuse in the red cable to alternator. 2. Check fuse voltage sense wire. 3. Post picture back side alternator. 4. With engine running test wit...
I've got a WS500 within a LiFePo system with a Balmar XT250, REC Active BMS and Victron Multiplus & Cerbo GX. It's been working quite well for 18+ months, though this past weekend my alternato...
I did restart the WiFi unit, and it did show up on the WiFi devices after restarting. I was able to reconnect to it and I was able to see all the BMS detail on the home screen. However I was not ab...
A few thing to try. Did you restart the WiFi unit. Did you restart the BMS. Did the WiFi unit after repower/reset show up under WiFi devices on your phone?
Recently upgraded the firmware of my 1.2 version of the Wifi module. All was smooth and went well, however after the upgrade while I can still see the homescreen, I cannot see the firmware page (no...
Hi Hank, I am happy to hear you reached resolution. I am very interested in more details, as you know these SMA can be querky if parameters are off. Let me know if you have any other issues. Than...
Fred, No problems. I finally figured out what was wrong. I don't know how the parameter changed on the SMA, but we changed the start parameter from null to auto and then to start which did t...
Ok, thanks for the feedback. I like the Idea of connecting the Wakespeed up to the Altenator shunts because I then have more options for control. Connecting up to the Battery Smart shun...
Also your SOC calculation may be incorrect, to me it appears your SOC should be greater than 60% assuming you are using lifepo4 chemistries
Hi Hank, Sorry for the delayed reply. Are you still having issues? I have a few systems setup SMA and REC products. What is your incoming source of electrons? Are you DC coupled with a ch...
