Thanks Rick!
Thanks Rick!
That\'s what I get too. My math was to take the 5500A/50mA IOJA of 0.0195313 x 50 / 75 = 0.01302086666
Those were just generic snips I grabbed one day to show what data is displayed. It is a demo system that we experiment with, so it could have been in any state at the time. The idea was to show...
It will just not have the new parameters they added and you need to do firmware updates using the DOS tool that Wakespeed includes with the zip file.
Quote from Rick-admin on January 9, 2022, 9:33 am Hi Salvey, The REC BMS functionally acts as a Master DC source on the CANBus network via the Cerbo, and becomes part of the Victron Ecosystem. ...
will it work, at least partially, on 2.4.3 and on 2.5.0-beta? or it is not functional with the latest firmware?
Thats only for if it loses CAN communication/BMS is not working (super conservative - might change it). Otherwise, it\'s charging is directed by the REC BMS.
Hi guys Just wondering if I can confirm my value as the formula is a beast! For a 500A/75mA shunt, it would be 1.30208e-2 - is that correct?
Hi Ben. Yes I do agree, balance in the cells is important, and will play an large role in how long the process will be in charging the cells. But my 1000AH Winston bank is perfectly balanced....
Hello Natecostello, Very nice how you made the logging data graphics!! But I am surprised that your bulk setting is only 13.2V
I have seen fluctuation amps with MPPT controllers as well. I see also customers installations with NO fluctuation with MPPT controllers. The fluctuation in amps I could solve the problem with re...
This is great! Thanks for sharing.
I finally got around to documenting my config and testing which may be of use to other. For background my system is a 560HA 24V LFP built from EVE 280 cells with a REC-Q BMS. The Wakespeed is con...
From Tine at REC BMS Head office: 1.0 was only beta, not upgradable by(to) 1.2 and 2.0. 1.2 and 2.0 can be upgraded. (2.0)HW has a bit different layout and external LEDs. () are my notes
From Tine at REC BMS head office: It is programmed as a charge control, but we can custom re-program it for a small fee of 25€.
Packs that comes out off balance is mainly cheaper cells. I dont see this with Winston cells for example. I think balancing below 3.5V has negative side effects.
This is an interesting topic and there are some good points here. After more than 10 years experience with various LFP cells, like Ben I have found that trying to maintain an LFP pack at a parti...
There are different ways to do. A easy way is in a GX product, under DVCC, set MAX voltage to 13.1V or 13.2V. Negative side effect: If you do this for a long time, batteries can become sl...
Rich and Rick, How best to \"store\" our house bank of LiFePo4 managed by a REC Active BMS has been an ongoing concern for us since installing the system 2 years ago. Our system includes a Victr...
Nice, thank you. I will contact them when closer to doing my install.
Head office confirmed that the Sunny CANbus cable is the same pinout as the Growatt inverter
I have setup multiply REC Q BMS 24V system with one discharge relay and one charge relay. REC can supply you from a firmware that the opto output controls the Charge relay. The relay output con...
We are indeed looking at current stability, esp with CAN based instrumentation and BMS \'moving targets\' in a rather quick fashion (Blue line in your graph). Most BMS\'s assume quick responding M...
Yes, it\'s not clear but that image is from the wire side, not the pin side of that connector.
I connected my BMS cell voltage wires according to the labels on the wires, but when I check the voltages on the plug, the negative is on the left top of the plug, instead of the right top in the m...
Maybe REC can help with this one. @tine
There is another thread similar to this one where they want to use the SI-Q BMS opto output for discharge limit disable of loads, in this case to isolate the Cerbo and only have it disabled on a lo...
My experience is that this was much better in Wakespeed V2.4.3. Then in V2.5_Beta it got worse again. Confirmend by going back to V2.4.3 so I belive Wakespeed are on to something.. ...
Does anyone know the difference between HW 1.0, 1,2 and 2.0?
Hi! Wondering if there have been any updates on this. Thank you!
Hi Fred, From what I could find the Growatt uses the same pinout as the SMA cable but I have a msg into head office just to confirm.
Hi Rick, Are any off the shelf (from offgrid) communication cables available for the Growatt inverters? Thanksm
I\'d love to see Victron have a main page update that will show a charge source from the WS500. However my guess is to get an accurate reading, you\'ll still need to install a shunt on the wire fro...
Any details on the new command that was added?
Hey Adam, If your opto output is not being used you should be able to add a small interposing relay and set it as a low voltage cutout for these loads. By default it is set to disable non-smar...
Oh, I also want to do this, but I have a system with a REC Q BMS already in service. Can that be setup to do it as well? I guess the REC WiFi module would also fit into this.
Got the drawing. Nice work! I like your idea of using the the second relay as your interlock to power your mission critical low power loads like the Cerbo direct from the battery pack. By defa...
Hi Rick - thanks for your reply. Sorry, e-mail is steve@imlcontracting.ca. I\'ll send system schematic shortly
REC has now released its latest software update for the REC BMS WiFi module. There are versions for both the 1.2 and 2.0 boards so check the \"Firmware\" page before downloading. The files are ...
Hey Steve, Your email kicks back as not found but you can send me your wiring diagram here. Its an interesting design consideration, tech@offgridsoftwaresolutions.com Rick
